Privacy Policy
Better Check-In (“the app”) is provided by Jeong Won LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with information when a business (“you”) installs it on a Wix site. Questions: james@jameshuh.com.
What the app does
Better Check-In lets your clients check themselves in for today’s Wix Bookings sessions on a front-desk device, and records their attendance in Wix Bookings.
Information the app reads
To show today’s arrivals and decide whether a client can check themselves in, the app reads from your Wix site, at the moment it is needed: today’s bookings (client name, service, time, booking and attendance status), whether a client has an active Wix Pricing Plan, and whether their Wix Intake Form (waiver) is complete and when it expires. The app never reads the answers on an intake form. It also reads your site’s address and time zone, and your Better Check-In subscription status from Wix.
Information the app stores
The app does not store information about your clients. It stores only:
- records of the kiosk devices you activate: a one-way cryptographic hash of each device’s credential, the device’s status and label, and when it was activated, last used and revoked; and
- your check-in rules.
These are kept in your own Wix site’s storage. The kiosk device keeps one random credential in its browser storage so it stays signed in.
Information the app writes
When a client checks in, the app records their attendance in Wix Bookings.
What the kiosk shows
The kiosk shows today’s clients as first name and last initial, with their service and time. A booking without a client name is shown as “Guest”. Place the kiosk where that is appropriate for your business.
What we don’t do
Better Check-In does not add its own advertising, analytics, or tracking technologies. We do not sell or rent client information, or disclose it to third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes. We do not build our own database of your clients. We do not see or process payment card details. Subscriptions are billed by Wix.
Roles
You control your clients’ information in your Wix site. The app processes it only to provide check-in on your behalf. Wix hosts the app and your site, and Wix’s own privacy policy applies to Wix’s services.
Your clients’ requests
If one of your clients asks to access or delete their information, that information lives in your Wix site, and you can handle the request there. If you need our help with anything the app holds, email james@jameshuh.com.
Retention and deletion
Client information is not retained by the app. Device records and check-in rules stay in your site’s storage while you use the app and may remain after the app is removed. Revoking a device in the app’s dashboard invalidates its credential immediately. To have device records or settings removed, email james@jameshuh.com.
Security
Device credentials are stored only as one-way hashes. A kiosk can see only today’s bookings, only after you activate it from your dashboard, and you can revoke any device at any time.
Children
The app is a business tool for Wix site owners. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
